HB 1639 (2023) -  Driver Licenses and Identification Cards

Requires proof of specified identification number for driver license applicants; removes provision authorizing DHSMV to require applicants to produce documents from U.S. Department of Homeland Security; authorizes additional documents issued by foreign governments to satisfy proof-of-identity requirements; provides validity period for driver license or temporary permit issued based on such documents; prohibits DHSMV from disclosing information to agency that enforces immigration law; requires DHSMV to notify individual about whom such information was requested; prohibits discrimination against individual with driver license that does not comply with REAL ID Act.
