Revising district school board duties relating to fire drills and emergency drills; expanding requirements for district school board procedures relating to drills for active assailant and hostage situations; requiring district school boards to establish procedures to provide advance notification of drills for active assailant and hostage situations to parents and to provide parents with an option to excuse their students from drills requiring evacuation from a building; requiring such procedures to address the needs of exceptional education students, etc.
