Visiting the Capitol

Representatives are pleased to welcome constituents to the Capitol to see the process of lawmaking up close and personal!  During the weeks preceding the regular session, when council/committee meetings are taking place, members can be contacted in their Capitol offices.  During the regular and special sessions, members can once again be contacted at the Capitol offices.  During other times, they should be contacted at their district offices. Members’ offices are located in the House Office Building and the Capitol Building.  Councils/committees meet in both these buildings as well as the Knott Building.  The House Chamber where session takes place is also in the Capitol.  House calendars and/or directories detail where members’ offices are, when and where councils/committees are meeting, and contain other information that will assist you with your visit to the Capitol.  Room numbers are followed by the letter that designates in which building the room is located.  Capitol rooms are designated “C”, House Office Building “H”, and Knott Building “K”.  These calendars and directories can be found on the House website (www.myfloridahouse.gov) or in the House Duplicating Center in room 334 C.
