SUBJECT: Special Session Dates
We are pleased to inform you that significant progress has been made to establish a general framework for reducing state spending. Chairs Carlton and Sansom have informed us that we are ready to announce dates for a Special Session. The call will be released next week. However, for your planning purposes, we are announcing today that the Legislature will convene for a Special Session on Wednesday, October 3,2007, through Friday, October 12,2007.
The Senate had previously cancelled the interim committee meetings for the week of September 17,2007. Today, the House also cancelled the interim committee meetings scheduled for next week.
Both the House and Senate have tentatively scheduled interim committee meetings for Thursday, September 27,2007, and Friday, September 28,2007. We will notify you with
additional details on the meetings next week.
