Explanations of Vote:

  • Allen -
We can do better. We should do better. The comprehensive approach of the Florida House for property tax reform was sidelined by political chess from our two house process. The citizens of Florida deserve a better product from its legislature. I hope that the Ballot Box and a energized voter will send a message that they want better and true tax reform. The only reason I voted yes was to give us that opportunity.
  • Planas -
Although I was reluctant to concur with the Senate position, I have come to the conclusion that the Florida Senate was not willing to return to work and thus I felt that we had no further choice than to vote to concur with the only form of tax releif that would be available to vote on.
