SB 1734 - Student Assessment in the Public Schools

General Bill   by Smith
Student Assessment in the Public Schools: Provides that the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) shall be discontinued. Requires the High School Competency Test (HSCT) to replace the grade 10 FCAT. Requires a student to earn passing scores on the HSCT to qualify for a standard high school diploma. Requires the State Board of Education to designate passing scores. Provides for implementation beginning with the 2013-2014 school year.
