GENERAL BILL   by Agriculture & Natural Resources Policy Committee and Crisafulli (CO-SPONSORS) Bembry; Brandenburg; Hudson; Poppell
Tomato Food Safety: Revises term "food establishment" to include tomato repackers for purposes of Florida Food Safety Act; requires minimum food safety standards for producing, harvesting, packing, & repacking tomatoes; authorizes DOACS to inspect tomato farms, greenhouses, & packinghouses or repackers; provides penalties; authorizes DOACS to establish good agricultural practices & best management practices for tomato industry; provides presumption that tomatoes introduced into commerce are safe for human consumption under certain circumstances; provides exemptions; authorizes DOACS to adopt best management practices for agricultural production & food safety; revises duties of Division of Fruit & Vegetables for tomato food safety inspections
