HB 1449 (2009) -  Use of Restraint and Seclusion on Students with Disabilities in Public Schools

Prohibits school personnel from manually physically restraining student with disabilities except in emergency when imminent & significant threat to physical safety of student or others exists; provides further restrictions on use of manual physical restraint & other disciplinary methods; provides for medical evaluation after restraint; provides requirements for training of school personnel; requires preparation of incident report after student is released from restraint; requires development & revision of school district policies & procedures.
